YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

What is ceramic coating and what does it do?
Ceramic coating is a surface protection method offering long term benefits and can be applied to all surfaces including paintwork, glass, plastics, fabrics, trim, alloy wheels, brake calipers and leather. It contains liquid polymers containing Si02, the main compound found in glass.
Water, insects, tree sap, general road grime and road salts have a hard time sticking to the surface. Ceramic coated glass has huge benefits when driving in poor weather with an instant water repelling effect.
Ceramics will actually help reduce and almost eliminate wash marring and swirls when proper maintenance methods are used. Coated alloy wheels help repel brake dust and makes wheel maintenance cleaning significantly easier and preserves the surface to maintain gloss.
Leather coatings are perfect for preventing new leather from discoloration, UV damage, spills and general dirt.
Ceramics will also protect from harmful UV damage, bird etchings that can destroy the clear coat, and the harsh elements while boosting paintwork gloss, depth and clarity. Ceramics make maintenance cleaning significantly easier and repels dirt and water with hydrophobic effects.
How do I maintain my ceramic or wax coating?
This is something we maintain in our after care maintenance plans.
However, if you enjoy maintaining your own vehicle, we will offer our directions upon completion.
What is the difference between ceramic coating and a traditional carnauba wax?
Ceramic coatings are best for long term durability as they offer multiple years of protection compared to waxes and sealants. Traditional carnauba waxes simply sit on the paintwork rather than actually making a chemical bond to the paintwork unlike a ceramic coating. Carnauba waxes have a warm deep glow effect and high gloss. Some of our waxes have added PTFE, known as Teflon, which creates a none stick surface preventing water, road and outdoor contaminants adhering to it. If you are looking for the appeal of the deep warm glow effect which can still have strong long term durability, (typically around 4 -12 months depending on the wax) choose a wax. If you are looking for a longer durability without the traditional wax glow effect, opt for a ceramic coating.
Why does a paint correction job take so long?
Before any paint correction can take place, the vehicle goes through a thorough de-contamination process. This ensures, when the machine polisher is used, nothing such as iron fallout, tar and other road contamination damages the paintwork further. Once we are happy with the de-contamination stage and the paintwork is ready we begin the compounding and polishing work. The car then goes through a thorough wipe down eliminating polishing oils ensuring the coatings we use bond to the surfaces.
Why we choose to be studio based only and not mobile?
When polishing, your car needs to be free from dust and other outdoor elements. Being studio based, we can create and control all aspects of the environment including dust, UV rays and temperatures. This allows us to provide the absolute best conditions to carry out our work.
Why choose us?
Customer satisfaction is 100% our number 1 priority over anything we do. We use systems tailored to the vehicles specific paint types and work to a quality not quantity approach. We aim to provide a cost effective service for all budgets and will try our best to cater for any specific needs. Our studio is designed to create an environment with the focus of being able to provide the highest quality of work. Cleanliness, lighting and decoration play a huge part in our services to allow us to outline defects and finish vehicles to a standard we adhere to. We have heavily invested our time and dedication in education and understanding different paint types and approaches as-well as equipment, products and tools for trial and testing to ensure we can deliver the highest of standards across the sector.
What is the difference between single stage, two stage and multi stage paint corrections?
Single stage machine polishing is essentially a one pass machine polishing step resulting in a drastic boost in gloss and paint clarity whilst removing light paint oxidation and light swirl marks. Up to 70% boost in gloss can be achieved dependent on original condition. This is best suiting for new vehicles and vehicles having very light paint defects and vehicles that have generally good paintwork or just looking for a boost in gloss rather than actual defect removal
Two stages of correcting and polishing are generally for vehicles that show signs of heavier swirls, scratches and paint oxidation. Additionally, a second stage is implemented to remove a haze left behind from the heavier cutting step and for a greater boost in gloss. Up to 85% defect removal can be achieved, depending on the original paint condition.
The highest level of paint correction consists of multiple stages of machine compounding and polishing that aims to bring the absolute best possible defect removal and gloss outcome for the paint. Deep swirl marks and scratches are cut out of the paint with heavy cutting steps and refined in multiple stages leaving the best possible mirror like finish and gloss. A simple term of explanation would be removing an onion layer revealing a new layer. Deep scratches can still remain, however 95% defect removal can be achieved, depending on the original condition of the paintwork.
What is the difference
in a standard car wash and the maintenance or premium deep cleans we offer?
The techniques we implement in our care are focused on a scratch free method. Some standard car wash services use harsh and very basic methods and equipment which in turn will induce paint imperfections and can also completely remove any protective coatings.
We take our time to produce a finish that is worthy of the price you pay.
The vehicle goes through a safe chemical decontamination process meaning iron fallout, tar, tree sap, bird droppings, and water spotting marks are removed leaving the paint without an embedded layer of contamination that will just keep building up on itself. Interiors are completely reset to a new car feel, tackling heavily engrained dirt, hand grease and body oils are removed from items such as steering wheels and gear knobs and discoloration of leather seats.
